Props in horror films

 Props play a huge part in a horror film. They add realism to the film and some of the most iconic props ever have come from horror films.

Props can not only add realism by including detail that helps to establish time, setting and character but thy are primerialy used in horror films in the assosiation witht the main antagonist

https://voicethread.com/share/16085500/ a strrong prop can be used to identify quicly character and intention for example the red ballon in it instantly stablishes pennywises intended victims as chidren aS BALLONS ARE ASSOSIATED WITH CHILDRENS BIRTHDAY PARTIES. tHE COLOUR RED CONNATES DANGER AND BLOOF aand i belive this prop identifies the characters target and intention in one visual prop. Another character whos costume and main prop have become iconic is that of freddy krueger. his hands with glove claw and iconic trilby hat are a reconsidered moteef that connootes violenve and torture.

What  this blog has tough me is that props have the power to fuel merchandise and can make iconic charcters memerable. Moving forward i will consider props more carefully especially when thinking about my antagonist although in an opening sequence you might not see the antagonist I can use pops to hint at there existence.
