Jaws opening sequence

One of the most famous movie opening sequences of all time has got to be Steven Spielberg's Jaws released in 1975. It opens with a bunch or Teenagers drinking and having a good time when one of the girls runs off with a boy to go skinny dipping.

She makes her way out to sea where she swims around for a bit. At this point, the tension starts to build by. The film does a great way of building tension for example the use of the sharks POV shots really puts the watchers at the edge of their seats.

Another great way that they do this is through the use of the sound design the subtle dark environment with the quiet music playing in the background until the volume picks up when she is being attacked. Another noise that gives the scene a strange but creepy setting is when she is being pulled under she grabs onto the buoy the noise of the bell ringing and no one hearing or shouting for her makes the scene seems isolated and scary as we as the watcher know there is no escape for her.
